36 years has passed since my father, Shigeru Egami passed away.
Whenever I see pictures of my father in Karate Dojos, I am filled with sincere admiration for the people who has been keeping my father’s wish alive.
The wish had been taken over from Master Gichin Funakoshi, and now is being handed over to the people in various regions of the world as well as in Japan.
On December 7, 2017 which is the 105th anniversary of Shigeru Egami’s birthday, “Egami Karate-Do Doyu-Kai” has been established as General Incorporated Association to support those people to pave their ways forward.
I had opportunity to hear the voices of hope among young people in various countries that they would like to have a venue where they can stay together and can share their time.
To fulfill their wishes we came up with the idea of refurbishing Yuten-So which had been kindly presented to Egami family from the graduates of Toho University Karate club.
We are planning to reconstruct Yuten-So as a memorial place of Shigeru Egami with the facilities of accommodation and Dojo.
We would appreciate very much your support to make our plan bear fruit in future.
